How the EuroLeague season works

The EuroLeague is Europe's top club competition. Its clubs, most of them holding long-term licences, play each other home and away in one league table from October to April, with several double-round weeks (Tuesday and Thursday or Friday games in the same week).

The top six go straight to the playoffs and seventh to tenth play a Play-In for the last two places. The playoffs are best of five with home court for the higher seed, and the four winners meet at the Final Four in May, one weekend in one arena.

What decides EuroLeague games

Games last 40 minutes with ten-minute quarters, so there are fewer possessions than in the NBA and totals are lower, usually around 160 points. Home court counts for more than in the NBA: travel across the continent, loud arenas and familiar floors make the home side a real favourite in close matches, and our model measures that edge for the EuroLeague separately.

The calendar matters as much as quality. In double-round weeks rotations get shorter and the second game is often harder for the team that travelled, and clubs juggle their domestic league at the weekend. Coaching and defensive systems are stronger than anywhere else in Europe, which makes underdog wins more common than in the NBA.

Reading our EuroLeague predictions

Each game has a win probability, a projected score, a handicap (spread) and a total. A EuroLeague pick at 60% is a solid favourite; above 70% is rare and worth noticing. Because totals are lower, a few points matter more: compare our projected total with the line, and look at the projected margin before taking a favourite on the handicap. Our predictions use the market's consensus once odds are out, so a late absence moves the pick too.

EuroLeague predictions: questions

How many teams reach the EuroLeague playoffs?
Ten teams have a chance: the top six qualify directly, and the teams placed seventh to tenth play the Play-In for the last two playoff places.
When is the EuroLeague Final Four?
In May, at the end of the season. The four playoff winners play semi-finals, a third-place game and the final over one weekend in a single arena, so there is no home court in those games.
Is home court bigger in the EuroLeague than in the NBA?
Yes, in most seasons the home side wins a larger share of games in the EuroLeague. The live home-win share for this season is in the answer about points further down this list.
How accurate are the EuroLeague predictions?
The model was tested on the whole 2025–26 season, predicting each game only from the games before it: it called 62% of EuroLeague winners in 402 games, against 64% for always backing the home team. Every new pick is settled in public on the accuracy page.
How many points are scored in EuroLeague games?
Finished EuroLeague games this season have averaged 174 points in total, and the home team has won 54% of them. Each game's own projected total is on its prediction page.
When are EuroLeague predictions published?
Up to 3 days before tip-off. Each prediction is updated as the betting market and the line-ups move, until the game starts.
What do the spread and the total mean?
The spread is the projected winning margin: −5.5 means the favourite is expected to win by 6 points or more. The total is the projected number of points both teams score together; the over/under pick says whether the game should finish above or below the bookmakers' line.
Are the EuroLeague predictions free?
The winner, the win probability and the projected score of every EuroLeague game are free to read, with no sign-up. The spread and total picks, the market prices and the full analysis are part of the Starter and Pro plans, and three games a day are fully unlocked for everyone.
How are the predictions made?
Each team gets attack and defence ratings from this season's games, weighted toward recent form and adjusted for the opponents faced, plus a home-court edge measured for each competition. Where bookmakers price a game, the model is blended with their consensus.
