How the Betclic Élite season works
The Betclic Élite (LNB Élite, formerly Pro A) is France's top division. Its clubs play a home-and-away regular season from late September to May; the best teams go into the playoffs for the French title in May and June, and the bottom of the table goes down to Pro B.
AS Monaco, Paris Basketball and LDLC ASVEL lead the league, and all three also play the EuroLeague.
What decides Betclic Élite games
The three EuroLeague clubs have much bigger budgets, but they play twice a week, and their weekend league game is where they lose most often. The rest of the league is close, so many games are decided by a few points. Games are 40 minutes under FIBA rules, with totals usually around 160 points, and home court is strong in the smaller arenas.
